When did you first volunteer for Manchester Pride?

What type of volunteering have you done previously?
I volunteered at pride last year I started out doing administration support. I also worked on the parade and in the VIP tent. I have also volunteered on an exclusive Boxing Event, Futuresonic and on several Social and Community Events.

Your best experience whilst volunteering for Manchester Pride?
There are so many but getting the opportunity to have a behind the scenes look at what it involves to put on an event of this size and to see how much hard work is involved was definitely one of the best experiences, also seeing how the streets of the village are transformed into the event site was also amazing.

How did you hear about Manchester Pride?
I joined an organization called Manchester Event Volunteers, it was through them.

How has volunteering benefited your personal development?
It has definitely helped me improve my office skills and I.T skills as well as improve my knowledge of Event / Festival Management.

How has volunteering benefited your professional development?
It has definitely confirmed I want a career in the Event Industry.

Would you recommend volunteering for Manchester Pride?
Yes definitely, it is an amazing experience.

Best Pride moment?
This is a difficult one as there are so many different aspects for me. In terms of my career it would be the same as above but if it was about the festival itself I would say the big weekend was the best for me just getting to see the festival in full swing and everyone having a great time for a great cause.
